Follow the new adventures of Damon and Kelly as they travel through time to visit famous characters in history. This fast-paced, multi-media stage show uses comedy, music and an engaging cast of characters to bring mathematics to life.
Written and directed by Vancouver actor and playwright, Mackenzie Gray and produced by Academy Award winning producer Dale Hartleben, Math Out Loud builds connections between math and our daily lives and makes mathematics relevant to youth.
Math Out Loud:
- Is a one hour show
- Aimed at Grade 8—10 students, but broadly suitable for secondary students in general
- Covers a range of topics in mathematics including: art, music, geometry, binary numbers, etc.
- Accompanied by a guide for teachers and in-class activities that allow students to explore the ideas presented in the show
Math Out Loud is a core outreach initiative of Mitacs. Our outreach initiatives aim to make science and mathematics compelling for future researchers – our children because a solid foundation in math and science is an essential building block for a career in technology, research and engineering.
