Paying tribute to Canada’s young innovators
The 2012 Mitacs Awards will honour outstanding researchers
This fall, Mitacs will host its annual Awards Reception to pay tribute to the exceptional undergraduate, graduate and post-doctoral students who take part in our suite of innovative programs. The Mitacs Awards, which will be presented at the Rideau Club in Ottawa on November 28th, seek to honour the best and brightest students whose projects have contributed to solving some of Canada’s key research and development challenges.
“This is our way of celebrating research excellence as well as the outstanding innovation breakthroughs that could only have happened because of the students who make up the Mitacs program family,” says Michael Lynch, Director of Science and Technology for Mitacs.
Awards of $500 will be given for outstanding undergraduate, graduate and post-doctoral research achievement and novelty in application.
“We are also pleased to announce that Mitacs has partnered with NRC-IRAP for the first time on an award for successful commercialization of a product or service through a Mitacs program. This award reinforces Mitacs’ commitment to advancing innovation in Canada through top-quality research,” says Anna Lucarino, Senior Advisor for Mitacs Stakeholder Relations and Mitacs Awards Reception Manager.
Interns will also be profiled on the Mitacs website as a special feature.
