Paul Zuurbier:
Director, Mitacs Conference Services

Paul brings over 12 years of event and conference management experience to the role of Director – Conference Services.  As Director, Paul is responsible for guiding the overall direction and operations of Mitacs Conference Services (MCS). He provides strategic direction, creativity and a national focus to the Conference Services departments at the University of British Columbia and the University of Toronto. Paul ensures international, national and region conference goals are aligned with budgets, sponsorship agreements and the best venue selection to create an outstanding experience.

Jo-Anne Rockwood

Jo-Anne Rockwood, CMP:
Director, Business Development

Organizing conferences and events with Mitacs since 2002, Jo-Anne has developed a depth of expertise in managing academic conferences. She recently completed her role as the Manager of the International Congress for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (ICIAM 2011), the largest mathematics conference held in Canada. In addition to producing and managing key events, Jo-Anne cultivates close working relations with local, national and international suppliers and vendors to create a strong network of partners.

Susan Yu

Producer & Team Lead

In addition to producing and managing a wide range of events, Susan coordinates the smooth flow of event and conference responsibilities between our team of event coordinators. Located in our Toronto office, Susan also coordinates event support and services from our finance and administrative teams.
